Katye Clark invites you to join her on April 21st, 2012 for
a day of embracing our bodies, our temples. Join Katye for self-discovery, personal healing and transformation. We begin at
9:00 AM. Together we will journey into the labyrinth. Once there, Katye will lead you in several body prayers.
Body prayers are exercises developed in the tradition of Middle Eastern spiritual practice. They may include visualization,
chanting, movement, intoning and/or awareness of your breath. A unique concept of body prayer is to help each of us feel our
bodies as a part of Sacred Unity, a unity of body, mind and spirit.
This will be a day of reaching
deep within and bringing to the surface the words and beliefs we each hold about our bodies. Through conditioning and trauma
we have lost the innate connection to our bodies. Our bodies long to speak, for within them they hold our story.
During the morning, time will be spent in silence. There will be many places to sit outside, in nature, as well as
inside, to relax and be alone. Each participant will write two letters. One will be about what your body is holding deep within
and the second one will be a love letter to your body.
In the afternoon, each woman will make
a body map. This body map will be a full-size map of your body. We are going to use finger paints to create a beautiful visual
of our bodies. This will be a time to allow our little girls as well as our creative self to have some fun. Each body map
will also include affirmations. We will also draw our chakras on our body maps.
After dinner,
we will again journey back into the labyrinth where we will again do body prayers. The body prayers we will do during the
evening will celebrate our bodies as the beautiful temples they are. We will end the day by sitting around the sacred fire.
